Project Objective: An Earth Day activity that increases awareness of our over dependence on carbon emitting, fossil fuel base modes of transportation and demonstrates our caring for the planet.

Project Activities or Steps: Plan a Walk. Plan errands for another day. Schedule necessary activities near our homes, offices, and classrooms. Prepare a rally idea. Present a brief comment to your rally participants. Something like: Thank you for meeting us here today. I’m (your name) of Delta Zeta and like you we care for our planet. Today, in celebration of Earth Day, we chose to walk so that we might cut down on carbon emissions from automobile exhaust and reduce gasoline consumption. Simple decisions like the one we’ve made today do make a difference. I hope that you’ll consider walking as an alternative to driving for nearby errands or to classes on other days.
